2018 ACT-W NATIONAL

ElsaMarie D’Sliva is an aviation professional who is the founder and CEO of Safecity, an app and organization that helps women report sexual harassment and abuse that occurs in public locations. Elsa Marie is also involved with the Red Dot institute to help women’s equality.

Jia Jiang has recently hosted a Ted Talk on 100 days of rejection which was his social experiment. It is currently in the top 5 most viewed Ted talks of 2017. Jia is an entrepreneur, blogger, speaker and is currently working on his first app focused on Rejection Therapy this app would help challenge and guide people to get out of their comfort zone and achieve their goals on their own.

Jia is speaking during a lightning talk–An expert on rejection, he will shed light on getting more girls into the field of computer programming through rejection training.

Jennifer Davidson

Jennifer Davidson

Jennifer Davidson is a Senior User Experience Researcher at Mozilla. She creates and conducts research studies of all flavors. She has a PhD from Oregon State University where she researched how to involve older adults in open source software communities. She teaches for the UX Design Certification at Bellevue College Continuing Education, and has led past ChickTech User Experience Design and Research Workshops for high school students.

Kathy Gruver, PhD is a motivational speaker, an award-winning author, and she hosts the national TV show based on her first book, The Alternative Medicine Cabinet. She was thrilled to appear on the TEDx stage in February. She just completed work on a project for the military to create and institute a stress reduction program. For fun and stress relief Dr. Gruver does flying trapeze and hip hop dance.
